How to Create an Object in LCM

Step-by-step guide on creating a single object in LCM, including prerequisites, compulsory fields, and troubleshooting common errors.

Introduction

This article explains how to create objects one by one in LCM. For creating objects in bulk, refer to How to create multiple objects from file in LCM.

By creating an object in LCM, you will be able to:

  • See it in TT2.

  • Update FW and CFG.


1 Prerequisites

Gather the following information before creating the object:

Field Name

Notes

Client and Payer Client

Company the object will belong to. Must be created in advance.

Object Name

Name with which the object will be searchable in TT2.

Phone Number

Unique phone number associated with the object. Must be created as a SIM card in advance.

IMEI

Unique and real IMEI number. Data will not be accepted if the IMEI is not valid.

Hardware and Soft ID

Hardware type of the object. Important for FW and CFG updates. Soft ID is filled in automatically.

Template

Presets the object settings. Must be created in advance.

Payment Plan

Determines the features available and the monthly fee. Must be created in advance in ERP by the sales manager.

3 Steps

  1. Log in to LCM.

  2. Create a SIM card if one has not been created yet.

  3. Go to Objects.

  4. Click Create new object.

  5. Fill in all compulsory fields listed in section 1.1.

3.1 Verifying the Result

If the creation is successful, a Done message will appear in green at the top of the page.

โš ๏ธ Warning: If the message ERROR: IMEI exists appears, another object with the same IMEI is already created in LCM. Verify that the old object is no longer active or needed by the previous owner. If confirmed, delete the old object before creating the new one.


4 Expected Result

The TT2 server will now accept data coming from the IMEI assigned to the newly created object.
