Standard Configuration of the TT2 Fuel Module (Using Additional FLS)
Standard Configuration of the TT2 Fuel Module (Using Additional FLS)
Updated over 3 months ago

At the beginning of this article, we want to review the Advantages and Disadvantages of monitoring fuel levels by installing additional fuel level sensors on vehicles.

Using additional fuel level sensors for monitoring trucks significantly improves the accuracy and reliability of fuel consumption and inventory control. Here are some key types of additional sensors and their advantages:

Advantages:

  • Real-time fuel data monitoring: Accurate data on fuel reserves helps avoid situations where a truck unexpectedly stops due to an empty tank, which can lead to accidents or delivery delays.

  • Reduction of theft and leaks: Clients can quickly detect and prevent cases of fuel theft or leaks.

  • Route and refueling optimization: Accurate data on fuel consumption and remaining reserves allow clients to optimize routes and plan refueling, reducing operational costs.

Disadvantages:

  • Relatively high installation cost: Additional sensors require significant initial investment, which can be problematic for small companies with limited budgets.

  • Complex installation and configuration: Installing and configuring additional sensors require professional skills and time.

  • Operational maintenance: Possible seasonal calibrations; no possibility of remote repair if the electrical circuit between the GPS device and the sensor is broken.

Despite the listed cons, using additional fuel level sensors in trucks significantly enhances fleet management efficiency, reduces fuel costs, prevents theft and leaks, and improves overall safety and reliability of transportation.

Recommended settings for the fuel module (no difference for single or dual-tank vehicles):

The recommended fuel filtration value is 20 liters (no difference for single or dual-tank vehicles). The data source for the Can must be turned off.

Adjusting coefficients based on time is only possible if necessary (if there are refuels in the system that are not fully captured by the module based on time).
