Description:
Sometimes, when connecting a Ruptela device to the Tachograph, an unexpected side effect might occur when the tachograph screen will remains permanently illuminated even after ignition has been turned off.
Common causes:
This issue is caused by the Tachograph maintaining an active communication with the HCV device even when it is not needed, thus remaining in active state instead of standby state.
The solution to this, thus, is disabling the communication between the tachograph and the device, and this can be done by the device configuration side by disabling the CAN or K-line interfaces when ignition is detected as off by the device.
Steps:
1- Open the device configuration file in the Advanced Configurator.
2- Enable Custom Sleep and set a desired activation delay after ignition is off (default is 600s or 10min)
3- Click on Customize and make sure CAN and/or K-line are disabled (other modules should remain enabled unless otherwise necessary).
4- Enable Sleep state parameter as Event on Change and Priority Low (low priority is necessary, otherwise the device will wake up as soon as it goes to sleep). Enabling this parameter is not strictly necessary but helpful if troubleshooting needs to be performed).
5- Save and Send the configuration to the device.
In case that despite this modification tachograph would remain illuminated when ignition is off, the issue should be forwarded to an authorised tachograph workshop.
