How to set up a power supply disconnection alert?

Description:

Some Clients may request to receive an alert/SMS to their Trust Track account or phone when the tracker disconnects from a power supply. In those cases, please follow the procedure steps explained below.

NOTE: In order to get a power supply disconnection alert, you need a device with an internal battery. The devices that have no internal batteries cannot be used for getting this alert.

Required information:

Web user name or ID

Client name or ID

Phone number that should receive an alert

Steps:

There are 2 ways to create an alert when the tracker is disconnected from the power supply:

From the device side:

1 - Open Advanced Configurator -> File -> Open CFG -> choose your configuration file -> press Open.

2 - In IO events Options set the highlighted parameters like in the screenshot below:

NOTE: the Level parameter is displayed in milliVolts (mV). So, for example, if you set 10 000, it means that the device will send an Alert/SMS when it drops below 10 Volts (V).

3 - Set the SMS alert number for getting a notification to your phone:

Go to Authorized numbers -> insert the needed SMS Alert number -> press Close.

NOTE: „00“ stands for „+“. The SMS alerts will be sent to the SMS Alert Number provided in the Authorized numbers options.

4 - Then Press File -> Save CFG -> Upload the configuration to the device.

From the TrustTrack side (using the Events module):

1 - Enable the IO Input Trigger in the Object settings in LCM (Locator Control Manager) -> press Save.

2 - In the Client’s Trust Track account create a new event with the condition Input Power Supply Voltage < 10 000 mV.

3 - Choose how you want to receive the notifications:

4 - Press Save.

Expected outcome:

After all these steps, the Client will start receiving alerts/SMS when the device disconnects from the power supply.
