1. Where to find API documentation
TrustTrack API documentation: fmsdocumentation.com/apis. For example, for integration with another system you can use the Status API.
Parameters and limits of each endpoint are listed in Swagger: api.fm-track.com/swagger-ui.html.
The API key is created in the TrustTrack web user settings, section "API key Settings". See Basic knowledge about API. How to create an API key?
Device parameters (IO IDs) are described in the FM IO list.
2. Request limits
The general limit is 1,000 requests per minute per source IP address, counted across all APIs called from that IP.
When the limit is exceeded, the API returns HTTP 429 Too Many Requests.
Some endpoints have their own additional limits – check the endpoint in Swagger. For example, the Fuel events API returns data for a period of up to 92 days per request.
3. Data returned by the API
The API returns the data as it was received from the device. It does not filter or convert the values. If you need filtering (e.g. to remove unexpected values), apply it on your side after receiving the data.
4. API version 3
API v3 is not included in any plan. To use it, contact your sales manager to have it enabled. Additional costs apply.
Some data is available only via API v3, e.g. eco-driving data generated directly by the device is available via the Object coordinates streaming API v3.
5. Errors
For errors such as "Access denied", "Full authentication is required to access this resource" or "Authentication token is unauthorized", see API requests troubleshooting.
6. Contact support
Include: the API endpoint and the full request (without your API key), the time of the request, the response or error you received, and what you expected to receive.
