How to Select the Correct Firmware File for a Device

Ensuring the firmware (FW) file is up to date provides access to new functionalities and resolves bugs or malfunctions present in older versions. For this reason, it is essential to select the correct FW file when performing an update.

In this knowledge article, we will explain where to find the latest firmware (FW) files for all device models, including end of life devices. As a bonus, we will also cover how to identify a device model based on its configuration file extension.

Guidelines:

Locate the specific firmware (FW) version for your device model:

  1. Go to our Downloads Home section for software and firmware

  2. You will find two types of files:

    1. The specific FW version, available separately for each device model:

    2. The ReleasePack is a complete package containing the latest firmware (FW) versions for all devices in our current catalog. It can be used to update the FW of any device through the Advanced Configurator:

  3. Each device includes a Change Log file, which provides the complete history of FW versions along with descriptions of improvements and new capabilities

  4. For devices with extended versions, those files are also available in this section.
