How to get as much as possible data from Light vehicle with OBD and LCV solutions. (Double OBD and LCV Solution)
Updated this week

Description:

The client doesn’t receive all parameters from LCV, but some needed parameters are available from OBD.

Cause:

Some parameters are available from CANBUS (LCV) and some from OBD.

Actions:

1 - First, You need to check what is the Make, Model, and Year of the client vehicle and check the supported vehicle list to see what parameters are available from LCV and what parameters are available from OBD: https://vehicles.ruptela.com/

In our example, the Renault Clio V 2019, the VIN is not received from CANBUS (LCV). The VIN might be available from the OBD, but the mileage is not.

2 - It is suggested to connect both CANBUS (LCV) with EasyCan and OBD methods according to our manuals and configure both CAN lines in the device.

Recommended harness connection:

will be to PIN3 (CAN 1 High) and PIN11 (CAN 1 Low)

LCV connection will be according to our manual to CAN Wires with EasyCan.

Configuration in this case will be:

CAN1 – OBD with manufacturer specific data set as Renault

CAN2 – LCV – Renault-Renault13

3 - After installation, we checked RAWData and made sure that all needed parameters were coming:

From the RawData report, we see that the Mileage received from the CANBUS parameter (CANBUS Distance) – when the OBD Odometer, km – is not available, the Vehicle ID is received from the OBD VIN1,2,3 parameters.

4 - Finally, we need to set all needed parameters in Object settings:

To see VIN in TT2 history (analysed by coordinates,) You need to enable the CAN vehicle ID checkbox in object settings:
