Device connection settings via Advanced mode
Updated over 5 months ago

Description:

In most troubleshooting cases, it is advisable and even necessary to check the device configuration.

Since we might not have the device in hand to check it locally, you might need to get it remotely: How to get device configuration remotely (general)

APN settings:

For a device to connect to GPRS, APN settings must be entered according to the SIM card.

Below you can find APN names for Ruptela SIM cards (User and Psw are not used for Ruptela cards and most others):

Teliasonera: ruptela.ts.m2m

Vodafone: m2m.ruptela.com

Tele2: ruptela.tele2.com

Telenor: ruptela.cxn

Auto APN: To work with many different SIM providers AutoAPN is used.

Note: If a client is using their own SIM cards, you may need to confirm with a client if APN settings are set correctly.

Connection settings (Protocol, IP, and Port):

To connect to a server, a correct IP address must be set. Also correct PORT must be chosen according to the selected data sending protocol.

TrustTrack2 IP/Port:

IP: 92.62.134.34

TCP protocol PORT: 9015

UDP protocol PORT: 7001

If two IPs are configured and „Two servers“ option IS NOT enabled, the device can switch to 2nd server if 1st server is not available. In such case, to switch back to 1st server, you would need to restart the device by sending SMS command reset.

If two IPs are configured and „Two servers“ option IS enabled, device will not send data to rver if 1st server is not available.2nd se

Note: If a client is using their own server, you may need to confirm with a client if IP/Port/Protocol are set correctly. Also, to further troubleshoot, ask for the server logs to check the interaction between the server and the data sent by the device.
