LCM Request for Creation of Access for More Than One User

This article addresses scenarios in which a client requests the creation of more than one user account for a Service Provider (SP) within the Locator Control Manager (LCM)

Since LCM supports only one user per SP, such requests cannot be fulfilled as submitted. Depending on the client’s actual need, the request may be redirected to the creation of webusers, which allows multiple users to access the TrustTrack (TT) interface for device management.

This article explains the distinction between LCM access creation and webuser creation, and provides step-by-step instructions for creating webusers through both the LCM and the TrustTrack interface.

Explanation:

LCM access is a single-user credential associated with a specific Service Provider (SP). It is created exclusively by the technical support team at the time the SP is provisioned, and only one LCM user account may exist per SP.

Webusers, by contrast, are user accounts that provide access to the TrustTrack (TT) interface for the management of objects (the common term for GPS tracking devices within the platform). Multiple webusers can be created for a single SP. Webuser creation can be performed directly by the client through TrustTrack, provided the user performing the action holds administrative rights.

Guidelines:

Part 1: LCM Access Creation

1. LCM access is limited to one user account per Service Provider (SP). It is not possible to create additional LCM users for an existing SP.

2. LCM access creation is handled exclusively by the technical support team at the time of SP provisioning.

3. To request LCM access creation please contact your sales manager.

4. If approved. The technical support team will create the account and assign a password.

Part 2: Webuser Creation via LCM

1. Log in to the Locator Control Manager (LCM) at https://sso.fm-track.com/login.

2. Navigate to the Web Users section.

3. Click Create new webuser.

4. A new window will open. Complete the following mandatory fields:

• Client: Select the SP that will own this webuser.

• Name and Surname: Enter the webuser’s full name.

• Login: Enter the login name to be used for authentication.

• Password: Enter and confirm the password.

5. Complete the following optional fields as applicable:

• Phone number

• Email address

6. Under User Type, select one of the following:

• Administrator: Grants administrator-level users may also manage permissions and assign access levels to other webusers. As well, as accessing all the objects for this “Client”

• User: Grants access only to the modules and objects explicitly assigned to this user.

7. If the account must be temporarily deactivated without being deleted, check the Disable checkbox.

8. Under Maps, select the maps to be available to this webuser. Then designate one of the selected maps as the Default Map. The default map must be selected from the checked maps only, selecting an unchecked map as the default may cause TrustTrack to malfunction or fail to load.

9. Save the new webuser.

Part 3: Webuser Creation via TrustTrack

Note: Only webusers with administrative rights can create new webusers in TrustTrack.

1. Log in to TrustTrack at https://track2.ruptela.com/login.

2. Navigate to the Webusers section.

3. Click New Webuser.

4. A panel will open on the right side of the screen. Complete the following fields:

• Name (mandatory): Full name of the webuser.

• User Type (mandatory): Select Administrator or User.

• Login (mandatory): Login name to be used for authentication.

• Email (mandatory): Email address of the webuser. To send the webuser an email containing a link to set their password, check the corresponding checkbox below this field.

• Language (optional): Interface language for the webuser. Note that the selected language may also affect date and number formatting.

• Phone (optional): Phone number of the webuser.

• Role (optional): Assign an existing role to the webuser. For role management, contact the technical support team.

5. Save the new webuser.

Expected outcome:

Upon completion, the new webuser account will be created and will be available for login through the applicable interface. Administrator-level webusers will have full access to all functions and will be able to manage permissions and access levels for other webusers within the system. Standard users will have access only to the modules explicitly assigned to them.
